Horse

2015 - 316cm high - Edition 2/5

In 2015 I was commissioned to make a three metre bronze carriage horse for the Principal Hotel, now the Kimpton Clocktower Hotel, on Oxford Street in the centre of Manchester. The glass covered hotel atrium originally contained a carriage 'turning circle' for the victorian offices of The Refuge Assurance Company. The prancing horse has an upright neck, the bearing of a traditional carriage horse, that works well with the huge horizontal bias of the atrium.
In 2018 a second cast was made of the horse, named Arion, to stand on the 16th floor deck of the cruise ship The Celebrity Edge.
